Shake shack coming to austin

Restaurant will be on the corner of S. Lamar

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Shake Shack, a popular fast-food restaurant based out of New York, is coming to Austin in late 2014.

The restaurant will be located on the corner of South Lamar and Treadwell in the Lamar Union retail and residential development. Randy Garutti, Shake Shack CEO, said in a press release he and the company were excited to "plant their feet in the great state of Texas."

The new location will be constructed with recycled and sustainable materials and feature energy-efficient kitchen equipment and lighting. The Austin menu will feature all the classic Shake Shack items including beer, wine, and a selection of tailor-made frozen custard concretes.
