His daughter, Rosa Patton, married John Dudley White, also a  Texas Ranger, who died in the line of duty. The  laughter of young children (although none were around) was common, some  workers even thought they were inside the walls. Equipment began  breaking for no reason, so the building ran off a few construction crews  before it was completed. Onion Creek in Southeast Austin reached a record high level and  several other waterways that had been parched by months of drought were  brimming over their bounds.<br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>The bright spot was that by 7:30  a.m., the heaviest part of the system was moving past the Interstate 35  corridor. But as dawn broke across the region reports of flooded  neighborhoods and people in distress streamed across the emergency  service dispatch radios.<br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span> </font><ul style=""><li style=""> 		<font color="#006"><a style="" href="http://interactives.kxan.com/photomojo/gallery/9671/1/" target="_blank"><strong style="">Photos from the flooding</strong></a></font></li></ul><font color="#006"> One of the most dramatic reports came during the overnight hours from  a woman in labor who was trapped by the fast-rising waters near  Spicewood Springs Road. By 6 a.m., several hours after the initial  reports came in, Austin-Travis County EMS <a style="" href="http://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/flooding-can-delay-morning-commutes" target="_blank">workers were able to reach the woman</a>.<br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>According  to officials, the woman had been cut off by two low-water crossings and  crews were attempting to get to her using a rescue boat. At 2 a.m.,  crews on the scene reported water was traveling at 6,000 cubic feet per  second and heavy debris were littering the creek.<br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>Hours later in  Southeast Austin, several people had to be rescued from the high waters  near Bluff Springs Road. The First Independent Baptist Church was half  submerged.<br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>Numerous reports of similar emergencies poured in from all over the KXAN viewing area.<br /><span style=""></span><br /><span style=""></span>Around 1 a.m. that Bull Creek was covering Loop 360 in Northwest Austin. <strong style=""><a style="" href="http://www.kxan.com/news/williamson/residents-evacuated-in-hutto-because-of-flooding" target="_blank">Evacuations were also taking place</a></strong> along areas of <a style="" href="http://www.kxan.com/news/williamson/residents-evacuated-in-hutto-because-of-flooding" target="_blank">Brushy Creek in Hutto</a>.
